NFT platform for digital art
I led product on a blockchain-based NFT platform aimed at creating positive impact for African-origin artists, entrepreneurs and workers — and at teaching myself web3 by building in it.
The idea
Artists, art organisations and collectors create, sell, buy and trade digital art as NFTs on the Cardano blockchain. The idea was pitched to Project Catalyst — one of the largest decentralised innovation funds — in Fund 5.
My role
Working alongside a team led by Dynal Patel (CPO, IOHK), I guided product design, functionality and UX: wireframing, project management, and advising on fiat and crypto payments infrastructure across Moonpay, Stripe and Wyre.
Traction
The project drew interest from museums and galleries across Africa and helped grow the Cardano creator ecosystem — now the third-biggest chain for issuing NFTs. The team secured investor funding and continues building the MVP.
