LivCure — digitising a healthcare SME
The COVID-19 pandemic aggravated the situation for SMEs, including our family healthcare business — traditional, legacy, little-to-no technology. Profitable, but held back by operational inefficiency exactly when demand surged.
I co-founded LivCure Surgical Pvt Ltd in 2021 with my brother-in-law, while based in the UK — a med-tech business born from digitising the legacy operation.
Strategy
Simplify the procurement ecosystem for healthcare providers and create efficient market-access pathways for manufacturers. The five-year roadmap: streamline and automate operations through process optimisation and digitisation, built lean on the Zoho platform.
Why SMEs matter
SMEs are ~90% of all businesses worldwide and employ around half of the global workforce. India alone has about 63 million of them, contributing nearly 50% of exports — yet most face a technology gap, talent shortage, and cash-flow strain.
User behaviour
SMEs worldwide struggle to grow in e-commerce because of low software adoption, driven by technologically inexperienced users who operate in unorganised ways with long learning curves. Digitising for this consumer profile takes patience.
Product strategy
LivCure is product-led — using digital technology to improve access to healthcare products globally. As technical founder, I developed a range of digital products serving the needs of the business and its customers.

Results
In roughly 2.5 years, revenue grew 1200% — from ₹4.7L in FY20-21 to ₹75L in FY22-23. By 2022 LivCure was among the fastest-growing OEMs of gloves, masks, respirators and blood lancets in the market. We continue to march on and grow to meet the market’s demands.
