Lifestyle and our environment
Mar 15, 2022

A good life doesn't happen by chance.
It needs to be deliberately and thoughtfully designed to achieve the kind of life you aspire for yourself.
Our environment determines the way how we live. The "way of life" or in urban language "Lifestyle". Our genetics have only 5% a role in the way we turn out to be. 95% is our external environment. The internal environment of our body is constantly reacting to the external environment. One can hope for a positive internal environment - a balanced self - only if the external environment provided is positive. Input = Output.
According to Ayurveda, man is a microcosm, a universe within himself. He is a child of the cosmic forces of the external environment, the macrocosm. Disorder occurs when these two are out of balance. We ourselves are responsible for creating imbalance (dis-ease) in our microcosm by choosing the wrong things in life which are not fit for our body, mind and soul. This is not some philosophy or gyaan but law of nature.
The imbalances contributing to disease occur from a variety of reasons - some common examples being poor food choices, lack of activity, disturbed circadian rhythm, poor emotional health, work-life imbalance, suppressed consciousness and countless more..
According to Buddhism writings of Nichiren Daishonin, everything is interconnected. The individual and the environment are one and inseparable. Life manifests itself in both a living subject and an objective environment.
By altering diet and lifestyle, it is possible to heal the imbalances in our microcosm, or in simpler language, heal the diseases. Làvi is on a mission towards empowering people with knowledge and practical solutions so that more and more people can live a healthier and better life.
